David Ira Gaines

David Ira Gaines, 77, of Blytheville, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

Born to Ira and Betty Jo Gaines, David was a former employee of Agrico and Walmart and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. He served his country with honor in the United States Army. David loved his dogs and reading. He enjoyed watching his nephews play and had a passion for writing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Terrie; and sister, Iris Stabbs.

David leaves two sons, Marshall Gaines and his wife Johanna of Boston, Georgia and Martin Gaines and his wife Alyssa of Tucson, Arizona; niece, Dana Ham and her husband Michael of Blytheville and nephew, Rex Stabbs and his wife Yvette of Bullard, Texas; one granddaughter, Alexis Cooksey and her husband Jordan; great-granddaughter, Rowan; and Lane, a great-grandson on the way.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 7th at 2:00 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Privett officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
