Geraldine Wellchance

Geraldine Wellchance was born Nov. 28, 1926 in Alamo, Tenn., to the late Will H. Holton and the late Tishey Holton. She was a homemaker, a member of The Golden Girls, she also served in the kitchen, as an usher, choir member and on the women’s board for New St. Paul M.B. Church. Mrs. Wellchance passed away on July 8, 2019, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville at the age of 92.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Will H. Holton and Tishey Holton; her husband, Clint Wellchance; five brothers, Curtis Holton, W.T. Holton, Loyal Holton, Delmar Holton and Hoover Holton; and four sisters Ovilee Holton, Josephine Holton, Irene Holton and Estella Holton.

She is survived by one son, Alfred (Edna) Holton of Blytheville; one cousin, Theron K. Cates of Bell, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Alfred (Dawn) Allen Holton of San Antonio, Texas, Joyce (Theodis) Chunn of Brinkley, Brian Holton of Blytheville, Derrell (Tawana) Holton of Jonesboro and Marcus Holton of Little Rock; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 16, 12-2 p.m., at Wilson Funeral Home Blytheville, with the funeral immediately following at 2 p.m. Rev. Burton Furlow will be officiating. The burial will be held a Memory Gardens Cemetery in Blytheville. Services provided by Wilson Funeral Home Blytheville.
