Alexander “Dirty Red” Burks

Alexander Burks, known as “Dirty Red” to his family and friends, was born Jan. 15, 1974, to Charlie Burks Sr. and Joyce Carter Burks in Blytheville. Alexander departed this life Tuesday, June 25, 2019 in Blytheville at the age of 45.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife Tara Burks of Blytheville; his mother, Joyce Burks of Jonesboro; his father, Charlie Burks Sr. of Blytheville; six sons, Tony Lollar of Gosnell, Xzavien Burks, Kavion Burks, Jadarius Burks, all of Blytheville, Jordan Burks of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Andre Haymon Jr. of Hayti, Mo.; four daughters, Kayla Burks and Caitlyn Burks, both of Blytheville, Lesha Burks of Lansing, Mich., and Makenzye Blankenship of Grand Prairie; his mother-in-law, Patricia Stewart of Osceola; his father-in-law, Sylvester Stewart of Blytheville; six sisters, Melody Burks of Blytheville, Cynthia Burks of Gosnell, Denise Burks of Little Rock, Tracy Wright, Charlotte Bradford and Queen Neisler, all of Jonesboro; eight brothers, Charles Burks of Blytheville, Charlie Burks Jr. of Santa Rosa, Texas, Curtis Burks of Gosnell, Larry Burks of Newport, Jeffery Burks of Osceola, Tyrone Burks of Millington, Tenn., Elvis Burks and Antonio Burks, both of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, July 5, at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home and Cremations, 634 W. Main Street, Blytheville. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 6, at noon at True Light M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Sandy Ridge Cemetery, Burdette.
