Robert Lynn “Bobby” Tate

Robert Lynn “Bobby” Tate, 61, of Leachville, passed from this life Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Born in Paragould and raised in Manila and Leachville, he was the son of the late Cary and Linda Harmon Tate and had been a lifelong Leachville area resident. He was a 1976 graduate of Leachville High School and had attended the former Mississippi County Community College in Blytheville. Bobby was a former employee of the Arkansas Highway Department in Marked Tree and Pepsi Bottling Company of Marion, Ill. He enjoyed being with family, dove hunting, fishing and Cardinal baseball and was of the Church of Christ faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Preston Tate.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Barbara Cantwell Tate of the home; two sons, Robert Aaron Tate (Katie) and James Harmon Tate; his daughter Ashley Tate Matheny (Trevor), all of Leachville; one brother, Randy Tate of Leachville; two grandsons, Braxton Matheny and Baylor Matheny; a special niece, Cari, and a host of other nieces and nephews. He also leaves five very special people in his life, his “other kids,” Kasey Shepard, Michael Thorpe, Seth Garrett, Monty Montgomery and Matthew Honnoll.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, at the Howard Funeral and Cremation Chapel in Leachville. The family will receive visitors Tuesday morning one hour prior to service.
