Harvey Grant Emmert

Harvey Grant Emmert, 72, of Holland, Mo., passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019, at River Oaks Nursing Center in Steele, Mo. Harvey was born in Indianapolis, Ind., to Milfred and Florence Emmert. He graduated from Blytheville High School in 1964. Playing offensive and defensive tackle for the Chickasaws, he was known as “Big Em.” Harvey was a member of Yarbro Baptist Church. He worked in numerous factories and retired from Gilster-Mary Lee in Wilson in 2012.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Edward Lee Moore; and sister-in-law, Patty Lynn Gosa.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Donna Moore Emmert of the home; son, Grant Edward Emmert (Jodie) of Manila; granddaughter, Addison Sue Emmert of Manila; brothers, Robert Emmert (Linda) of Pensacola, Fla., and Jeffrey Emmert (Brenda) of Minot, N.D.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Elmwood Cemetery with Rev. Rick Robbins officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home.
