E.C. “Tenner” Wagner, 84, of Tomato, passed from this life, Friday, April 19, 2019, in Haltom City, Texas. Tenner was born Oct. 25, 1934, to Rev. R.E. and Margaret Wagner. He was a retired carpenter who always enjoyed working with his hands and helping those around him in need. Tenner served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a man who cared deeply for his family with unconditional love and devotion. He never met a stranger, loved to fish, loved to sing, was of the Pentecostal faith, and always loved telling stories of the many days he spent with his family and friends at every gathering. The most important aspect of Tenner’s life was his love for his wife Marie, their children and grandchildren, and the family and friends whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mollie Marie Wagner; brother, Tommy Wagner; and sister, Emma Lou Hamm.

Tenner is survived by his three sons, Jessie Wagner of Keystone Heights, Fla., David Wagner of Haltom City, Texas, and Roger Wagner of Big Sandy, Tenn.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; five sisters, Eve Wagner of Germantown, Tenn., Mickey Orr of Holly Springs, Miss., Linda Cathey of Williford, Dian Lucas of Jonesboro and Mary Mosley of Blytheville; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marty Spurlock officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home.
