Morene Fincher

Morene Fincher, 90, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at her home in Caraway. She was born Dec. 14, 1928, in Black Oak to the late Olin and Sarah Logan Cook. Mrs. Morene was a homemaker and a member of the Caraway First Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Garland Powell, and second husband, Jack Fincher; a daughter, Karen Story; son-in-law, Johnny Hawkins; a sister and two brothers.

Mrs. Fincher is survived by her children, Audrey Hawkins and Olin Powell (Diane), all of Caraway; a sister, O’Lean Mahan of Cave City; grandchildren, Heath Hawkins (Candace), Sarah Hawkins, Brent Powell (Jen), Melissa Stone (Jamie) and Zackery Story, all of Caraway; a son-in-law, Dean Story of Caraway; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Caraway First Baptist Church.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 5, at Caraway First Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Stevens and Rev. Heath Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow at Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Brent Powell, Jamie Stone, Zackery Story, Levi Reed, Eddie Whitehead and Jaron Hawkins and as honorary pallbearers, Zackery Story Jr., Grace Powell, Clayton Hawkins, Ella Hawkins and Miller Reed.
