According to Blytheville Assistant Chief Ricky Jefferson, on Tuesday, March 19th at approximately 0937 hours, the Blytheville Police Department, Pafford Ambulance Service, Blytheville Fire Department and Blytheville Emergency Squad responded to a Motor Vehicle Accident at the corner of Ruddle Road and Main Streets. A 2007 Freightliner semi-truck, driven by Nathan Stafford of Jonesboro, was eastbound on Main Street and ran the red light subsequently colliding with a day care van driven by Demontay Jefferson, which was northbound on Ruddle Road. The Daycare Van contained two adults and four children on board. The driver of the day care van was flown to the Med in Memphis by Air Evac. The Adult female passenger and two children were transported to Great River Medical Center for treatment and two children were flown to Lebonheur Children’s Hospital by Air Evac. The conditions of the patients are unknown at the time of this report. The driver of the semi-truck was cited for disregarding a Red Light.
