Leonard D. Tyler

Leonard Tyler was born Aug. 5, 1952, in Birdsong to the late Earnest Tyler Sr. and Ollie Newsom Tyler. Mr. Tyler departed this life on Friday, March 1, 2019, at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice in Jonesboro at the age of 66. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Leonard’s life will forever be cherished by his lifelong love, Carolyn Tyler of Birdsong; four daughters, Wanda McLin of Beach Park, Ill., Latoya Williams of Joiner, Patti Ivy of Nashville, Tenn., and Pamela Wiley of Marion; one son, Terrance Tyler Sr. of Birdsong; four sisters, Josephine Collins of Florissant, Mo., Gloredene Smith of San Antonio, Texas, Pamela Faye Marshall of Maywood, Ill., and Yvonne Smith of East Point, Mich.; three brothers, Earnest Tyler Jr. of Chicago, Ill., Clarence Tyler of Bellwood Ill., and Raymond Tyler of Maywood, Ill. He also leaves 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 8, at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home 128 South 7th Street West Memphis. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at St. John Baptist Church 602 Elm Street, Marked Tree. Burial will follow at Gillfield Cemetery in Birdsong.
