Kathleen Vandiver Clayton

Kathleen Vandiver Clayton, 65, of Monette, passed from this life Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, at her home. Born in Berrien Springs, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Roy Vernon and Ruth May Pasley Vandiver and had been an Arkansas resident since 1970. She was a seamstress having worked for Frolic Footwear in Monette and Arlee Manufacturing formerly of Leachville. She had also been self-employed for a few years owning and operating Clayton's Upholstery Shop. Kathleen loved various types of music and played the bass guitar.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Delbert Wayne Clayton, Jr.; one brother, Vernon Ray Vandiver; and one sister, Sissy Vandiver.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Delbert Wayne Clayton of the home; two sons, Paul Wayne Clayton of Kennett, Mo., and Robie Clayton of Leachville; her daughter, Kathy Mae Carroll and husband Billy Wayne of Caraway; her brother, Robert Lee Vandiver of Leachville; two sisters, Patsy Clayton Primm of Monette and Linda Louise Barrett of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Jerry "Chub" Qualls and Bob Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Macey Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers will be John Helms, Jerry Lamar, David Moore, Brian Carmichael, Anthony Petty and Kevin Bond. Honorary pallbearers will be Vickki Carroll, Dana McKuin, Leah Lamar, Andy Hatch and Bobby Shirley.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday morning from 11 until service time at the funeral home.
