Bobby Gene Acord

Bobby Gene Acord, 83, of Manila, passed from this life Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at the NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. Born in Batesville, he was the son of the late Alice Hawkins Clark and had been a longtime Manila resident. He was a retired cotton ginner with Adams Land Company of Leachville and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Manila. 

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Ruth Bailey Acord; three sisters, Sherrie Clark Slone, Freda Clark House and Faye Clark Chinn; and a brother, Boston Clark. 

Survivors include three sons, Ronald Keith Acord and wife Phyllis of Brookland, Barry Gene Acord and wife Julie of Sedalia, Mo., and Robert Lee Acord and wife Dena of Springdale; his daughter, Pamela Marie Crane of Jonesboro; two sisters, Delma Eaton of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Peggy Anderson of Amsterdam, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Samantha Monique Acord, Brandon Crane, Christina Gautier, Kevin Acord, Baylee Acord Newbauer, Brinkley Acord and Brighton Acord; and one great-grandson, Aiden Gautier.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Manila Cemetery with Rev. Eddie Hawkins officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila. 

The family will receive visitors Wednesday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
