Marjorie Clementine Simpson, 97, of Leachville, passed from this life Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City. Marjorie was born in the rural area around Black Oak, the daughter of the late Silas Elias and Cynthia Alabama Cleghorn.

Let us not weep for her as those who have no hope for blessed are the dead that die in the Lord. While we know that for us to lose a loved one is hard to bear, yet God ever knows best and he is too good to err.

Marjorie was a farmer's wife, homemaker, excellent seamstress and a wonderful cook. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Leachville where she had taught Sunday School Class and chaired the Hospitality committee at one time. It was often said that Estel and Marjorie treated everyone like family and they were greatly loved.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Estel Edgar Simpson; one daughter, Mary Lee Ann Stoll; two grandsons, Estel Lee Simpson and Calvin Hank Rabb; one great-grandson, Joseph Lee Simpson; seven sisters, Dora Craig, Bertha McDoniel, Lola Fletcher, Virginia Dillin, Alma Jewell Baldwin, Wanda Lee Cleghorn and Elsie Church; and three brothers, Edward "Fuzzy" Cleghorn, Howard Cleghorn, and Bobby Cleghorn.

She is survived by three sons, Estel Simpson, Jr. of St. Joseph, La., Carroll (Linda) Simpson of Lake City and Tony (Beth) Simpson of Leachville; one daughter, Shelia (Lloyd) Edgin of Leachville; son-in-law, Larry Stoll of Michigan City, Ind.; one brother, Bill Cleghorn of Royal Oak, Mich.; one sister, Helen Mitchell of Bernie, Mo. She also leaves 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren as well as 96 nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express thanks to Lakeside Nursing Center and St. Bernards Hospice for the loving care Marjorie received during her stay there and the kindness shown to the family during this most difficult time.

Graveside funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Monette Memorial Cemetery in Monette with Pastor David Price officiating. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:45.

The family received visitors Wednesday evening from 6-8 at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville.

The family requests that lasting memorials be sent to Leachville First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 9, Leachville, AR 72438
