Jeffrey Ross McCutchen, 55, of Steele, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.

Jeff was born in Modesto, California to Gerald McCutcheon and Patricia Jones Edmondson. He was a graduate of Christian Schools of Springfield, as well as Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. He was retired from the State of Missouri and a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter where he served as a deacon. Jeff loved God and taught Sunday school and also served as the Sunday school superintendent. Jeff was a former member of the Caruthersville Lion’s Club. He enjoyed politics and disaster emergency management. Jeff was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Razorback fan. Jeff had a big heart and loved helping others. He loved to be around his family, and his wife Beth and daughter Jill were his everything.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and grandmother, Dallas and Wanda Jones; paternal grandfather and grandmother, Adrian and Ivol McCutcheon; father-in-law, Max Johnson; and uncle, Rusty Rice.

Jeff leaves his wife, Beth Johnson McCutcheon of the home; daughter, Jill Elizabeth McCutcheon of the home; father, Gerald McCutcheon of China; mother and step-father, Patricia and Dale Edmondson; sister, Nancy McCutcheon of Bolivar, Missouri; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Shirley and James H. May of Cooter; aunt, Peggy Rice; cousin, Melissa Rice; in-laws, Neel and Missy Johnson, Dana and Tom Ford and Dr. Joe and Rosanne Johnson; and nieces and nephews, Matthew Johnson, Sarah Johnson, Jake Ford, Will Johnson, Olivia Ford and Lindsey Johnson; and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 17th at 2:00 p.m. at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter with Rev. David Lewelling and Dr. Chris Beck officiating. Burial will follow in Number Eight Cemetery in Cooter. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter.
