Frances "Corky" Schneider Jones, 89, a resident of Blytheville, formerly of Union City, died Sunday, July 29, 2018, at the Gosnell Therapy Living in Blytheville. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm Thursday at White-Ranson Funeral Home with Dr. Doug Meister, Senior Minister of Jeffersontown Christian Church in Louisville, officiating. Burial followed in Hickman City Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Schneider, Micheal Schneider Steven Schneider, Ryan Martin, Hayden Jones, Ben Jones, and George Schneider III. Honorary pallbearers will be Elders of First Christian Church, Union City. The family received friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home. Mrs. Jones was born on May 3, 1929, in Middlesboro, KY, to the late George W. and Agnes (Herd) Schneider. She graduated from Middlesboro High School and attended Western Kentucky University where she met her future husband, Dr. Laurence W. Jones. They married August 30, 1952. She worked as a registered lab technician at the old Baptist Hospital in Louisville, KY before she and Dr. Jones moved to Union City in 1958. She was active in First Christian Church in Union City for many years, having served as an Elder and Board Vice Chairperson. Upon her death, she held her church membership at First Christian Church in Blytheville, AR. She is survived by her children; Kathy Williams (Mike) of Blytheville, Rev. Linda J. Jones of Louisville, KY, Laura Beth Jones of Bowling Green KY, and Larry Jones of Dyersburg, TN. She also is survived by seven grandchildren; Adria Martin (Ryan) of Austin, AR, Audra Williams of North Little Rock, AR, Amelia Williams of North Little Rock, AR, Alicia Williams of Blytheville, AR, Hayden Jones of Knoxville, TN, Ben Jones of Knoxville, TN, and Hannah Jones of Dyersburg, TN; and four great granddaughters, Alonna and Zoey Dunkin and Kinley and Kenzie Martin. She leaves behind twelve nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Ann Schneider of Middlesboro, KY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouse of 39 years, Dr. Laurence Jones; her brothers, George Schneider and Freddie Schneider; and a sister, Kathryn Schneider.
