Barbara Joyce Bell, 87, of Blytheville went to be with her Lord on May 11, 2018. A Los Angeles, California Native, Barbara was born to Ira Pulliam and Lucille Hughes Pulliam on February 16, 1931. Though raised in a Baptist tradition, she attended a Pentecostal Church during her tenure in Blytheville.

A graduate of Los Angeles City College, she taught K-3rd grades in Los Angeles for over 15 years. She retired from her second career as a Medicare case-worker for LA county after 20+ years. Some of her many talents and pastimes included reading, playing the violin, and cooking for her family. She had a lifelong love of nature and enjoyed horseback riding in her younger years. Her family have fond memories of camping and visiting national parks with her. She famously sewed her own wedding dress and also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, making beautiful blankets for family and friends. Barbara was well known for her beautiful operatic voice.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Allin Norman, of Los Angeles, California.

She is survived by four children: Sheryl Norman of Desert Hot Springs, California; Lyzetta Bell of Los Angeles California; Doyle Edward Bell and Allison Brown, of Los Angeles, California; Bill and Judith Bell of Blytheville, Arkansas; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way!

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 16th at 3:00 in the afternoon at Carney Funeral Home in Blytheville. Visitation will be at 1:00 until service begins. Burial will be in Carney Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at carneyfuneralhome.com.
