Study: Alert Facility museum would draw 50,000

A recent feasibility study predicts that the Blytheville (aka Eaker) Air Force Base alert facility, if brought up to museum status, could draw upwards of 50,000 visitors annually within only a few years in operation. The study, funded by Mississippi County and conducted by Strategic Performance Group, LLC of Minneapolis, Minnesota researched tourist trends nationwide and in the area, as well as evaluating interest in preserved military sites, and concluded “Based on a complete analysis of all facets of developing an Alert Facility Cold War Museum at Blytheville AFB, it is SPG’s recommendation that steps be initiated to turn the dream into reality.”
