Sprucing up Walker Park

Saturday, March 31, 2018

The city of Blytheville began sprucing up Walker Park this week. The sewer department used its new ramjet truck to clear storm drains of debris. Public Works cleared the ditch of limbs and debris on the west side of the park and turned on the fountains in the pond. A pressure washing company was hired to pressure wash the pool building to prepare it for new paint and also washed the decking (concrete) around the pool. Ferguson Build and Play installed new impact surfacing to the north side playground. This is part of the 50/50 matching grant from the Arkansas State Parks Department. Crews still have two more playgrounds to complete and will return when it dries up, according to Mayor James Sanders’ assistant Cody Wyatt.
