John White Weeks

John White Weeks, 75, of Harrison, passed from this life Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at his home. Born in Prescott, he was the son of the late John Alexander and Tannie White Weeks and was raised in Gurdon. A 1960 graduate of Gurdon High School, he earned a bachelors degree in psychology and political science from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia in 1964. He was a retired pharmaceutical representative for Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceuticals and had been a Jonesboro resident before making his home in Harrison four years ago. A retired Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves, he was proud to serve his country and his God. John died with the sure and certain knowledge of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and life everlasting. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Harrison where he volunteered as the director of the food pantry.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Jackie Middleton Weeks of the home; his son, Nicholas Earl Weeks and wife Sophia of Elkins.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with the Reverend Dennis Selvidge officiating. Burial will follow in the Leachville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Friday from 1 p.m. until service time.

The family requests lasting memorials be made to the Harrison First Assembly of God Church, 1329 W. Stephenson Ave., Harrison, AR 72601.
