Mr. Billy Joe Copeland

Mr. Billy Joe Copeland, 75, of Osceola, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Osceola Therapy and Living.

Billy was born in Manila to Lonnie and Hattie (Slayton) Copeland and was a retired machinist for Viscase. He was a member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church in Osceola. Billy served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Mason and an avid hunter and fisherman. Billy was crafty and handy with his hands. He enjoyed fixing things and wood burning.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Freda Thompson and Evelyn Ryall.

Billy leaves his wife, Mickie Hinch Copeland of the home; a daughter, Kristi Jo Black of Jonesboro; and two sisters, Bonnie Hamilton of Manila and Eula Liljenberg of Auburndale, Florida.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 8 at Calvary Baptist Church in Osceola with Dr. Joe Cornelison officiating. Burial will follow in Mississippi County Memorial Gardens in Osceola. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at Calvary Baptist Church.
