Leroy Swanigan

Mr. Leroy Swanigan, 74, of Blytheville passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Born August 5, 1943 in Haynes, Arkansas Leroy was the son of Leroy and Mae Willie Tolbert Swanigan. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a past employee of Phillips Construction Company.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Dewayne.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Margaret Swanigan of the home; five sons, Robert (Mousalla) Smith of Hattiesburg, Miss., Leroy Swanigan, Jr., Lance (Tamara) Swanigan, Steve Swanigan and Anthony (LaToya) Daniels, all of Blytheville; two daughters, Theresa (Jerry) Barclay of Blytheville and Dr. Tina Figueroa of Baltimore, Md.; seven brothers, Willie (Pat) Burks and Johnny (Liz) Swanigan, both of Blytheville; Nathan (Deloris) Swanigan of Hughes; Jesse (Becky) Swanigan, Eddie (Sandra) Swanigan, Jimmy (Cassandra) Swanigan and Herman (Crystal) Swanigan, all of St. Louis, MO; one sister, Mae Lee (Willie) Phillips of Forrest City; 26 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held from noon until 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1215 East Street, Blytheville, where Bishop Brian Olden is pastor. Elder Herman Swanigan is the eulogist with interment immediately following at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
