Charles M. “Chuck” Schoolfield

Charles M. “Chuck” Schoolfield of Conway, formerly of Caraway, died Oct. 12, 2017. He was born in Paragould on Feb. 25, 1971, to Cheryl (Presley) Schoolfield and the late Charles Murl Schoolfield of Caraway.

Chuck graduated from Riverside High School in 1989 and enlisted in the Army the same year. He proudly served his country during Operation Desert Storm as an M-1 Armor Crewman and was honorably discharged from the Army in 1992. He went on to receive an Associate Degree in Computer System Technology, and he started a career with Alltel Communications, which subsequently became known as Windstream Corporation. Chuck was an avid reader, outdoorsman, and mechanic. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends while cooking out and story-telling by the fire. He was a wealth of knowledge. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him, near and far.

In addition to his father, Chuck was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Jessie Schoolfield, and Louis and Rose Presley, as well as an infant sister, Cynthia Schoolfield.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Roelie Ryerson; two sons, Geoffrey Hensley of Conway and Garrett (Annelies) Hensley of Allen, Texas; his mother, Cheryl Schoolfield of Caraway; three brothers, Chris (Briley) Schoolfield, Clint (Kim) Schoolfield, Clayton Schoolfield, all of Jonesboro; and three sisters, Chandra Schoolfield of Little Falls, Minn., Carrie Schoolfield of Leachville and Kaylani (Krey) Jeffers of Caraway; two brothers-in-law, Billy (Chrissy) Ryerson of Pensacola, Fla., Richie (Melissa) Ryerson of Conway; a sister-in-law, Sandy (John) Nilz of Conway; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral was held Thursday, Oct. 19, in Greenbrier. In lieu of flowers, Chuck’s family requested memorials be made to the Disabled American Veterans Charity.
