Wilbert Lemons

Mr. Wilbert Lemons, 90, died September 24, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. He was born at Armorel on September 25, 1926, but had lived in the Hermondale, Missouri community until about nine years ago when he moved to Grandview Missouri to live with his daughter.

While living at Hermondale, he was an active member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent, Church Treasurer, and other auxiliaries. His home was always welcoming to the many friends. Most of life, he farmed. He had worked as a machinist at Randall Manufacturing Co. also.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy Hoke Lemons; his parents, Rev. Levi and Mrs. Cora Jones Lemons; nine siblings, Freddie, Ruthie Lee, Elizabeth, Robert, Ruthie Mae, Senere, Rods Lee, John Eddie and John Lewis.

Survivors are Wilbert (Carolyn) Lemons of Shreveport, La., Mrs. Shirley M. Thomas of Grandview, Mo., Mrs. Dorothy Burton of Papillion, Neb.. Mrs. Mary Louise Wilson of Stafford, Va., Mrs. Angela Jackson of Raytown, Mo. and Mrs. Essie Miller of South Bend, Ind.; sisters, Mrs. Geneva (Webster) Wilson of Lees Summit, Mo. and Mrs. Emma (John) Winthrop of St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, Levi Lemons of Potosi, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Visitation and Funeral services will be Monday, October 2, 2017 New St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 515 E Sawyer Street, Reverend Clark Phillip, pastor. Visitation begins at 11:00 a.m. and the funeral services begin at noon. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery in Yarbro.
