Lloyd Carmichael, 73, of Monette, passed away Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, at his home in the arms of his daughter. He was born March 13, 1944, in Monette to the late Raymond and Mary Ann Huffman Carmichael. He was a loving husband, father and friend. He retired from Kiech-Shauver Miller Gin, an avid fisherman, outdoorsman and gardener.

Survivors include two children, Sandra Kay Edwards (David) of Monette and Roy Presley of Rogersville, Tenn.; two brothers, Raymond “Shorty” Carmichael (Darlene) and Buck Carmichael (Pat), both of Jonesboro; four sisters, Betty Brewer of Mountain View, Thelma Adams (Robert) of Manila, Vena Brewer of Lake City and Mary Frances Carmichael (Winkie) of Manila; two grandchildren, Chris McFarlin (Christal) of Easley, S.C., and Tyler Stone (Chelsie) of Longview, Texas; and a host of other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Carmichael; and three brothers, Roy, O.C. and Bill Carmichael.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at the Church of Christ in Monette with Bro. Jerry Reed officiating. Interment followed at the Monette Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. The family received visitors at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until service time.

Pallbearers were Allen Dewitt, Logan Dewitt, Buck Carmichael, Shorty Carmichael, Dink Gadberry and Cesar Marroquin. Honorary Pallbearers included Wallace Harrison and the employees of Kiech-Shauver Miller Gin.
