Mr. Nicholas Cheatum Patterson died peacefully on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

A lifelong resident of Blytheville, Nick graduated from the University of Memphis. After graduation, he managed the family’s farm for many years. He later joined William’s Sausage Company where he excelled as the national sales manager and loved to travel. Nick was a member of First Baptist Church in Blytheville where he served in several leadership positions through the years. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church. Nick had a passion for animals and often volunteered for the Blytheville Humane Society. The greatest joy of his life was his family. Nick was a supportive husband and reveled in the successes of his children and cherished his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, N.C. “Pat” Patterson and Clara Garner Patterson; and brother, Carl Patterson.

Nick is survived by his wife, Molly Patterson of the home; two children, Julie Lutes and her husband Christopher of Jonesboro and James Patterson and his wife Perrin of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and four grandchildren, Olivia, Tate, Rosalind and Julia.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Zachary Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any remembrances be made to First United Methodist Church or Blytheville Humane Society.
