Robert "Bolton" Johnson

Robert "Bolton" Johnson, 90, of Manila, passed from this life Monday, July 10, 2017, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born in Baldwin, Miss., he was the son of the late William Richmond and Eddie Ann McFadden Johnson and had been a longtime Manila area resident. He enjoyed spending time with family, was retired from American Greetings in Osceola and was a member of the People of Praise United Pentecost Church in Leachville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Nina Bell Roach Johnson in 2006; three brothers, Eulis Johnson, R.V. Johnson and Archie Johnson; four sisters, Mary Jane Hood, Willie Bell Church, Nettie Lovell and Rhodia Canamore; and a granddaughter, Angel Johnson.

Survivors include five sons, Rev. Jerry Johnson (Willine) of Manila, Eulis Johnson (Clora) of Manila, Larry Johnson (Debbie) of Jonesboro, Ricky Johnson (Julie) of Manila and Timothy Johnson of Manila; a daughter, Linda Curtwright (Wesley) of Manila; a sister, Opal Cole of Manila; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and his beloved dog Toby.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Thursday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with the Rev. Don Johnson and Rev. Bradley Curtwright officiating. Burial followed in the Manila Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were Dennis Johnson, Brian Curtwright, Jason Lopez, Spencer Cain, Parker Cain, Korey Cain, Houston Cain and Taylor Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Hunter Hawkins, Greg Hawkins and Mitchell Barber.

The family received visitors from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
