Vivian Collette Cole

Vivian Collette Cole, 82, of Raleigh, N.C., passed from this life July 7, 2017, at the William Dunlap Hospice Center in Raleigh. Born in Etowah, she was the daughter of the late William Finis and Lula Annis Strong Weaks and had been raised in Northeast Arkansas. She was the cook and owner/operator of The Plaza Cafe in Chandler, Ariz., where she retired in 1977. After retirement she traveled between Alaska and Mexico with her husband Clyde before settling in Fort Worth, Texas. She relocated to Lake City after her husband's death in 2009, and moved to Raleigh, N.C., in 2014 to live with her son Timothy. She enjoyed cooking, watching John Wayne movies and was of the Assembly of God faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years in 2009, Mr. Clyde Cole; two brothers, Marvin Weaks and Virgil Weaks; and one sister, Ruby Fay Pinkston.

She is survived by her son, Timothy McInerney of Raleigh; one stepson, Gary Cornstubble (Janette) of Ashland City, Tenn.; two brothers, Cliff Weaks (Clare) and William Weaks (Laura) all of Montreal, Mo.; four sisters, Shannon Gentry (Ed) of St. Louis, Mo., Bonnie Eldridge (Wayne) of Lake City, Wanda Brooks (Jerry) of St. Louis, Mo., and Ellen Parnell (Ed) of Holiday, Texas; two grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 14, in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Mr. Jimmy Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Monette Memorial Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Jeff Eldridge, Nathan Eldridge, Braden Eldridge, Jon Kellett, Everett Blakely and Ed Parnell.

The family will receive visitors from noon until service time Friday at the funeral home.
