Alma Ruth Middleton

Alma Ruth Middleton, 95, of Leachville, the widow of Mr. Thomas Middleton, passed from this life Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at her home. Born in Hollywood, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Savannah Belle Culp Langley and had been a lifelong area resident. She had been employed by the Leachville School District for many years and retired from the Buffalo Island Central School District in 1992. She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens and watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and the Atlanta Braves baseball team. In addition to her late husband, Mr. Middleton, she was preceded in death by her first husband Mr. Harold Ray and her son, Buie Ray in 1999.

Survivors include three daughters, Ellen Jernigan (John) of Hernando, Miss., Tommye Ruth Cornish of Leachville, and Connie Dobbins (Gary) of Jonesboro; two brothers, James Arnold Langley of Creal Springs, Ill., Thomas Arnold Langley of Poplar Bluff, Mo.,; a sister Bertie Newman of Ozark, Mo.; two grandsons, four granddaughters, three great-grandsons, and two great-granddaughters.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at the Leachville First United Methodist Church. Burial will be private. Howard Funeral and Cremation Service of Leachville was in charge of arrangements. Online guest register at www.howardfuneralservice.com
