Nola Brinkley

Nola Brinkley, 98, of Bartlett, Tenn., former Luxora resident, passed from this life Saturday, March 25, 2017, at her home. Born in Shirley, she was the daughter of the late Stonewall "Jack" Jackson and Elizabeth Evelyn Howard Murray and was raised in the Lost Cane community near Manila. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Luxora Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L.A. Brinkley; a son, Lloyd Brinkley; a brother, George Edward Murray; and her twin sister, Oma Evans.

Survivors include two daughters, Bettye Binkley of Bartlett, Tenn., and Reba McLean of El Sobrante, Calif.; one sister, Lorene Craine of Jacksonville.

She also leaves nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, in the Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila.
