Jonesboro -- Elizabeth "Liz" Carmichael, 67, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. Liz was born Oct. 9, 1949, in Caraway to the late Ollie and Laura Brooks Boyd. She was a retired cosmetologist of 50 years and retired in 2016 from NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital of 20 years. She was dedicated to her career and always carried a high standard work ethic. Liz would always put others needs before her own and loved her friends and family. Her grandchildren were her favorite of all. Also, Liz had a strong faith in God and devoted her life to the Lord.

Liz is survived by her daughter, Sandenia Carmichael of home; grandchildren, Mallory Goodson (Paul) of Walnut Ridge, Khristi Henry (Jasper) of Ravenden, William Hall (Amber) of Jonesboro and Sarah Hodge of Pocahontas; great-grandchildren, Raegan and Brooklyn Goodson, Noel Henry and future arrival of Stella Henry.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oscar "O.C." Carmichael; a daughter, Belinda Hodge; and a brother, Wallace Brooks.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette with Pastor Steve Farmer officiating. Interment will follow at Monette Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are William Hall, Paul Goodson, Jasper Henry, Johnny Griffin, Wink Hackworth Sr. and Billy Graham.
