Earl C. Price, 77, of Manila, passed from this life Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Alamo, Tenn., he was the son of the late James and Nora Edwards Price and was a 1960 graduate of Kingbury High School in Memphis. He was raised in Memphis and after graduation joined the Marine Reserves before joining the U.S. Air Force where he served in the Vietnam War and retired as an aircraft mechanic. After retiring from the Air Force he worked for FedEx in Memphis also as an aircraft mechanic until his retirement in 2008. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He was a devoted Christian and a longtime member of the Manila First Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Price.

Survivors include his wife, Drusilla Price of the home; two stepsons, John Randel Meacham and wife Jane of Haines City, Fla., and Thomas Clinton Meacham and wife Laura of Jackson, Miss.; two stepdaughters, Laura Ann Vandivor and husband Tommie and Mickey Ellis, all of Manila; one brother, Robert Lee Price and wife Norma of Hernando, Miss.; sister-in-law, Joyce Price of Memphis, Tenn.

He also leaves six grandchildren, Derrick Griffin, John Ed Griffin, Shane Clausen, Jennifer Brumley, Lyndsey Ellis and Karly Culpepper and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Ferrel Duffel, Rev. Matt Pryor and Rev. Benji Massey officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Paul Wayne Hicks, Frank Kirby, Bill Sawyer and Jimmy Hicks. Honorary pallbearers will be his Sunday School class.

The family will receive visitors Saturday from noon until service time at the funeral home.
