Monette -- Donna Mullen Rolland, 74, passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born Sept. 12, 1942, in Monette to the late Jeff and Inez Simpson Mullen. Donna graduated Monette High School and retired from the Lake City Library. She served on the Buffalo Island Museum board for many years and wrote an article for the Town Crier each month telling about the history of the items at the museum. She enjoyed reading and crocheting. She shared her creations with hundreds of children. Donna loved cooking for her family and every Sunday her home was full to eat and play games.

She is survived by her children, Chris Rolland (Terrie), Mark Rolland (Janet), Faith Rolland and Matt Rolland (Angie); two sisters, Gaye Rolland (Larry) and Marla Anne Corter; two brothers, Lester Mullen (Barbara) and Steve Mullen (Cindy); six grandchildren, Ellena Cox (Paul), Michael Collins (Jeanne), Jered Rolland (Shea), Jamie Lee Rolland, Derek Rolland (Kara) and Amber Rolland; six great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Cox, Paige Cox, Alysia Cox, Lainee Gulledge, Jaxon Chancellor and Brayden Rolland.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glen Rolland, and a sister, Brenda Mullen Wood.

A celebration of her life will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Shawn McElhannon and Jerry Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Monette Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jered Rolland, Derek Rolland, Michael Collins, Paul Cox, Justin Rolland, Kevin Mullen and Keith Mullen.
