Mr. Johnny Hassel, 57, of Memphis passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. He was born to the late Willie Hassell and the late Mamie Jones Hassell on November 19, 1958 in Joiner, Ark. and was a truck driver. He was also a Vietnam veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two of his sisters, Christobel Andrews and Elsie Hassell, two brothers, Willie Hassell, Jr. and Charlie Hassell and one grandson Mekhi Jackson.

Mr. Hassell leaves four daughters, Jawanika Hill, Najee Hassell, Lastashe Hassell and Latalya Hassell all of Jonesboro;

Two sons, Jakenya Hill of Fairbanks, Alaka and Trevonta Hassell of Memphis;

Three sisters, Adeline Smith of Joiner, Dotsie Long of Memphis and Emma Johnson of Madison, Wis.;

Two brothers, Mathias and James Hassell both of Madison, Wis.; and

Six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Joiner with Bro. Tommy Broadnax officiating. Burial will follow at the National Cemetery in Memphis. The family will receive visitors from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola.
