Billy "Bub" Reid

Mr. Billy Gerald "Bub" Reid, Jr., age 64, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Friday September 30, 2016 at his home. Born on July 12, 1952 in Leachville, he was the son of the late Billy Reid and was raised in the St. Louis, Mo. area. He was a 1970 graduate of Ritenour High School in Overland, Missouri and later served in the United States Marine Corps.

Billy attended St. Louis Christian College of Theology before returning to Arkansas in 1974. He was a longtime employee of Arkansas State University and was a faithful member of Trinity Church in Jonesboro. He was also a devout Christian with a heart for missionary service.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hadley and Lena Robins and Tom and Oleta Reid.

Mr. Reid leaves his mother, Dorothy Robins Reid of Monette;

One brother, John Reid of St. Charles, Mo.;

Two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jennifer (Dennis) Gathright of Monette and Phyllis (Ray) Sahl of O'Fallon, Mo.;

Three nieces, Rebecca (Derek) Pederson, Molly (Justin) Blattner and Rachel Goldammer.

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday October 5, 2016 at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Chad Gonzales and Rev. Rusty Bird officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Monette Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Justin Blattner, Chris Hare, Jim Ed Robins, James Paul McCord, Dave Cook, and Mark Gallion. Honorary pallbearers will include Dennis Gathright and Ray Sahl.
