Mrs. Ann C. Kuykendall

Mrs. Ann C. Kuykendall, 82, of Blytheville, died on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Well Star Cobb Hospital in Austell, Ga. She was born in Widener, Ark. to Mr. Emery Stinnett and Mrs. Rosanna U. Bane. She moved to Blytheville as a very young child and was reared by her aunt, Rosie Allen, and her brother Ellis was reared here by another aunt, Bertha Stinnett. She attended Harrison High School, but was a 1950 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and attended LeMoyne-Owen College, both of Memphis. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert C. Kuykendall, and they were married for more than 60 years until he passed in 2015. Ann worked as a secretary at Harrison High School and as a paraprofessional at Robinson Primary School until her retirement. She was an active and devoted member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Blytheville and a member of Beloved Community Church of Atlanta, Ga.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, their oldest son Sheridan "Sonny" , her parents, her aunts, and her brother Ellis.

Mrs. Kuykendall leaves behind five daughters, Mrs. Karen Blanchard of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Darnell McKoy of MaryEster, Fla., Mrs. Greta and Addison Martin of Raleigh, N.C., Mrs. Arnetta and Reverend Dr. Keith Slaughter of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. Regina and Tony Gilbert of Charleston, Ill.;

Two sons, Robert and Erma Kuykendall of Little Rock and Donald Kuykendall of Blytheville;

Sisters-in-law, Mrs. Laura Hughes, Mrs. Vernice Stovall, Mrs. Queen Esther Watson and Ms. Juanita Stinnett;

She also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, with Reverend Howard Smith, the pastor officiating. Reverend Johnnie L. William will deliver the eulogy and Reverend Dr. F. Keith Slaughter will be the master of ceremonies. Burial will follow at Mr. Zion Cemetery, W. Highway 18 in Blytheville. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, located at 9th and Central Streets in Blytheville.
