Deborah Kay Vassar

Deborah Kay Vassar, 56, of Manila, passed from this life Thursday, July 28, 2016, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Leachville she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Lucille Hearty Vassar and had been a lifelong Manila resident. Debbie was employed by Manila Nursing Center with 38 years of service and was a past recipient of the Arkansas Certified Nurses Aide of the Year Award.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Anna Mae Miles.

Survivors include her daughter, Kaylee Vassar of Manila; five brothers, Bobby Vassar and C.L. Vassar, both of Heartford, Mich., Jerry Vassar of Manila, Phillip Vassar of Jonesboro and Terry Vassar of Manila; two sisters, Bonnie Estes of Mammoth Springs and Linda Coleman of Manila.

Funeral Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with the Rev. William Vassar and Robbie Vassar officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time.
