Paulette Wells Hodges-Walker

Mrs. Paulette Wells Hodges-Walker, 68, of Blytheville, died July 3, 2016 at Regional One, Memphis.

She was born in Armorel, the daughter of Willie "Yank" and Lula Lewis Wells. She was a graduate of Armorel High School.

Paulette confessed her hope in Christ at St. Paul Baptist Church at Barfield as a child. She became a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in later years. Paulette was a devoted and dedicated member of Mt. Moriah, serving on the Usher Board, a member of the Praise Team Matrons, the Choir and Pastor's Aide and wherever the need was. She loved and served.

Coming from a large family, she knew to care and share. She and many of her siblings were very good cooks. In her later years, she became owner of P and D Restaurant. Her baking skills were outstanding. She was a "Chic" and Fashionable Dresser.

She was a cancer survivor and participated in many of the Relay For Life Events. This past June, she was named an "Honorary Cancer Survivor." Her parents and brother, Jerry, preceded her in death. Survivors are her husband, James A Walker, a daughter, Mrs. Tonya (Sunny) Osagie of Blytheville, 3 sons, James Hodges, Jr., State Representative Monte (Rhonda) Hodges, and Renaldre Hodges all of Blytheville; 4 sisters, Mrs. Nancy (Curtis) Jackson of Blytheville, Ms. Mary J. Wells of San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. Linda (John) Tally of Little Rock, Ms. Sharon Luster of Blytheville; 9 brothers, Willie Wells, James (Barbara) Wells, Bennie Wells, Johnny (Faye) Wells, Jimmy (Karen) Wells, Cordell Wells, Billy Joe Wells, Charles (Debra) Wells, and Danny (Treecie) Wells all of Blytheville; stepdaughter, Rosie Meyers and the Walker Family; niece, Aurlee Bass, who was reared as Paulette's sister, nephew Devione Barnette, who was reared as her son; other nieces, nephews, 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, July 8, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at First MIssionary Baptist Church, 601 E. McHaney. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church, Reverend Odale Jones,Pastor, Bishop Theodis Rucker, Eulogist and Reverend Adron Poole, officiating. Burial is in Gethseane Gardens.
