Mark Allen Westbrook, 51, a native of Blytheville and Poquoson resident for 28 years, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, June 1, 2016. He graduated from Munich American High School in Germany; received an Associate's Degree from Thomas Nelson Community College, Hampton, VA; and attended Christopher Newport University, Newport News, VA. Mark worked as Meat Department Manager for 16 years at Food Lion, and 5 years for Farm Fresh. He served for six years in the Marine Reserve, where he earned the Marksman Award in Boot Camp. Mark attended Emmaus Baptist Church, Poquoson, and loved to hunt, fish, and play golf. Two days a week when he wasn't working, he babysat his 2 year old grandson, Logan, whom he doted over. When his mother was seriously ill, he took good care of her.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Paul L. Westbrook Sr.; and grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. J. T. Westbrook of Blytheville and Jesse and Mary Pfleegor.

He is survived by his daughter, Brittany Westbrook of Poquoson;

Son, Brandon Cadmus of Gloucester, Va.;

Mother, Mary Westbrook of Poquoson;

Three grandchildren, Logan Peele, Lillie Cadmus, and Aaralyn Cadmus;

Three brothers, Paul L. Westbrook Jr. of Lexington, Ky., Wayne Westbrook of Newport News, and Joel Westbrook and wife Liz of Williamsburg, Va.;

Good friends, Dana Purl, Marsha Westbrook, Natalie Jonigan, and Tommie Bowers; and

Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 4, 6-8:00 PM, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, and other times at his mother's home, 7 Hopkins Ct. A Celebration of Mark's life will be Sunday, June 5, 4:00 PM, at the funeral home, led by Rev. Dr. John Snow. Burial will follow at Emmaus Baptist Church Cemetery with Marine honors.
