State assessment system to change

Thursday, April 7, 2016

Educators have another "season" in addition to the four seasons most people recognize. It's testing season! This year students in grades three through ten will have the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge on the ACT Aspire - a new standardized test. Many will recognize the "ACT" name tag, but please be aware that this is a completely separate test. Student performance on this test is vitally important. This is a chance for students to shine as individuals. Those who do well on this test set themselves up for future success and opportunities. Those who don't score as well are subject to intervention plans that may require additional instruction targeted to the areas where improvements are needed. These scores are also used for "grading" schools as required under the law from an "A" to an "F" scale depending on how well the students perform. Armorel consistently strives to achieve an "A" rating as evidence of excellence in our teaching and learning, and each student's score impacts our schools rating.
