Lola Flippo Rice

Lola Flippo Rice, 90, of Manila, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at the NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. Born Jan. 11, 1926, in Clover Bend, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Roxie Turley Kincade and was 1944 graduate of Delaplaine High School.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three husbands, Harold Roy Flippo, Joe Rice and Ballard Jaques. She had lived most of her adult life in Manila and was the former owner-operator and bookkeeper for the Lion Service Station before selling the business in 1972. Following retirement she enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She was a long-time member of the Manila Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by a son, Kelly Flippo; one daughter, Teresia Flippo; a brother, Frank Kincade, and a sister, Jean Seagraves.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis Roger Flippo and wife Brenda, of Hoxie and J. Randy Flippo and wife Ella, of Mountain Home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debby and Gary Hamilton of Manila and Kim and Ernie Malloy of Manila; two sisters, Loraine Parker and Pat McKinney, both of Walnut Ridge. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 10, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Mr. Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Wednesday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
