William Ross Smith

William Ross Smith, 35, of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at his home.

Ross was a graduate of Blytheville High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of Mississippi, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Blytheville. Ross was an integral part of the family business, R.D. Hughes Gin Company, where he farmed and managed operations.

Ross had a great love of animals, and many pets that he adored. His love for travel was evident as he was always up for a new adventure. He was an accomplished guitar player, and an avid enthusiast of music and movies.

Recently, he had the opportunity to pour his lifelong love of music and film into the roles of producer and co-writer for the movie, "Here Comes Rusty." Ross's own production company, Pink Bandana Productions, produced this film. His film was selected to be a part of a major upcoming film festival in 2016.

Ross will be dearly missed by all of his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mary Ellen and Ross Dillon Hughes, Jr.; and his paternal grandparents, Jean and Wallace Smith.

Cousins, John Dukes Langston, Jr., Erin and Andrew Carrington, Dillon and Jason Gilbow, Shelly Smith, Chad and Becky Smith, Stevi Smith, Brian and Heather Smith, Sarah Leigh and Trent Moody, Brooke Dye, Heather Chapman, Amber and Josh Adkins, and Melissa Smith.

A memorial service will be held Saturday February 6th at 11:00 a.m. at the Frist Presbyterian Church in Blytheville. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until service time.
