Jesilene Burton

Jesilene Long Burton, of Blytheville, died on January 18, 2016 at the age of 101.

Jesilene was born February 8, 1914 on her family farm in Gosnell, which became Blytheville Army Airfield in 1942. She was the eldest child of James C. Long and Media Crawford Long. After receiving her nursing degree from the Nursing School of Blytheville Hospital, Jesilene worked for over 50 years as an LPN in her community. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her infant daughter Rena Burton; daughter Robbie L. Burton Kendziorski; ex-husband Robert Osie Burton; sister Margaret Long; and four brothers, James S. Long, James T. Long, Kenneth E. Long, and James C. Long.

Jesilene is survived by her sister Betty Jean Long Freeman of Morgan, Utah;

Four grandchildren; and

Four great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at Cobb Funeral Home followed by a chapel service at 10:30 a.m. A private interment will be held at Elmwood Cemetery.
