Mrs. Inelda Tipton Nelson, 78, of Jonesboro, widow of Dr. Howard Nelson, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, at the NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital from injuries received in an auto accident in Jonesboro. Born April 4, 1937, in Manila, she was the daughter of the late Alvin A. "Pinky" and Mildred Anderson Tipton and was a 1955 graduate of Manila High School. Mrs. Nelson was a longtime member of the Greensboro Road Church of Christ in Jonesboro.

In addition to her parents and Dr. Nelson, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Chester Beaird.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jim Houston of Bacliff, Texas; one stepson, Mark Beaird of Arizona; and one grandson, Jeremy Houston.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel at Manila with Mr. Bill Willard officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors Monday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Jeremy Houston, Mark Lane, Leroy Miller, John Lane, Don Powell and Gary Bearden.
