Josephine "Jo" Hudson, also known as "Ghee," 82, of Gosnell died on Saturday, November 13, 2015. She was born in Myrtle, Mississippi to Alvie Bynum and Loyce Mannon Jarratt. A lifelong resident of the Blytheville area, she worked at Sterlings Stores for over 30 years. She was an active member of Bethany Baptist Church. Prior to her battle with Parkinson's Disease, she was very involved in choir and other various church activities and loved her church family.

Jo loved taking care of her family and seeing their every need was met. Her family was her life. An excellent cook, she loved big family dinners and reminiscing of the old days. She loved to make Christmas candy with her daughter and sister. She enjoyed shopping and road trips with her daughter and granddaughter. She was good at doing crossword puzzles, and she enjoyed reading her bible, and watching the food network on TV. One of her favorite things was to spend every Monday with her husband on his day off.

Ghee was a loving, caring woman that welcomed all into her home and treated them as family. Her family said that she was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers: Melvin, Curtis, Harold, Kenneth and Wesley Kevin;

her baby sister, Judy Kemp; her daughter, Jimmy Louise Gardner; grandson: John David Stuckey; great-grandson: Ellis William Fletcher.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, James "Jim The Barber" Hudson of the home;

Her son and caregiver, Mark Hudson of the home;

Two daughters: Donna Taylor of Phoenix and her wife, Jean;

Janice Cox of Springfield, Mo. and her husband Keith;

Two grandsons: Artie Taylor of Phoenix and Tony Stuckey of Pontotoc, Miss.;

Two granddaughters: Robyn Taft (who was raised in the home) and her husband Justin of Springfield, who was raised in the home, and Amanda Fletcher and her husband Cale of Knoxville, Tenn.;

Son-in-law, Larry Gardner of Booneville, Miss.;

Four great-grandchildren, Sammy, Madalyn, Micah, and Silas;

A sister, Gloria Lemmons of Yukon, Okla.;

A brother, Rev. Alvie Ray Jarratt and his wife Carol of Milan, Ill.;

Sister-in-law Louise Jarratt of Nashvill;

Two nieces she loved as her own, Leigh Kemp of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Anita and Brian Franklin of Kemp, Texas, and their daughter Allison; and

Two special cousins, Sherry and Delmer Cole and Jacque, Rob, and Caroline Dean, all of Bentonville, Ark.

Funeral services will be at 12 noon at Carney Funeral Home on, Tuesday, November 17, 2015, with Bro. Gary Hyde officiating. Visitation will be from 10 am until service time on Tuesday, November 17, 2015. The family requests any lasting memorials be made to Gideons International or Bethany Baptist Church Building Fund.
