Mrs. Thelma Elizabeth Bennett, 99, of Greenville, Mississippi died Monday, November 9, 2015 at her home. Born Thelma Elizabeth Tate on August 17, 1916, in Blytheville, to the late Albert Milton Tate and the late Ada Keeling Tate, she was a graduate of Blytheville High School.

Many people in Mississippi and Arkansas would say Thelma was one who lived her faith. They called her a really good example of a child of God, her children chief among them. She loved her South Main church family and the Sunnybrook Children's Home. She was a loving and loved Mother, Grandma, and Great-Gram.

She and her husband, C.B. Bennett, farmed for many years. She knew hard work. As a young woman she and her mother worked at a canning factory being paid 15 cents an hour and working ten hour days in addition to a 3-4 mile walk.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, C.B. and a young son, Joe Albert.

Mrs. Bennett was survived by her children, Linda Kenwright of Monroe, La., Ron Bennett (Betty) of Weir, Miss., David Bennett (Karen) of Shingle Springs, Calif., Connie Sue Bennett of Greenville, Miss., Bill Bennett (Sandy) of Bryan, Texas and Cheryl Causey (Greg) of Vaiden, Miss.;

In addition, she leaves much loved Grands, Joe Kenwright (Karen), Jeremy Bennett (Vicki), Amy Boggess (Jason), Kevin Bennett, Elana Bennett, Karli Bennett, Kimberly Cobb (Jerry), Shelley Medders (James), and Shauna Estes (Parker);

Treasured great-grands are Ashlyn, James, Austin, Jaden, Jonah, Bobbie, Ethan, Tate, Aubrey, Rylee, Luke, Britt, Kylie, Easton, and Tyler; and

She has numerous special nieces and nephews in Arkansas.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 13 at South Main Church of Christ, Greenville, Mississippi. Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, at Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville, Mississippi.

The family will receive friends beginning at 11:30 a.m. until service time, Friday, at South Main Church of Christ in Greenville, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sunnybrook Children's Home, P. O. Box 4871, Jackson, Miss. 39296-4871.
