Donald Ray Whitehead

Donald Ray Whitehead, age 76, of Manila, died Thursday Oct. 1, 2015, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Texarkana, Ark., he was the son of the late John Laneer and Jamie McDaniel Whitehead and has been a Manila resident since 1981. He was retired from the Manila Nursing Center in Manila and attended the Apostolic House of Prayer in Leachville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Gladys Whitehead in 2011, and a brother, Wayne Whitehead.

Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Whitehead and Amanda Meacham both of Manila; five brothers, James Whitehead of Spokane, Wash., John D. Whitehead, Charles Whitehead, Sherrell Whitehead, Floyd Whitehead, all of Texarkana, Ark.; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Robert White officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Saturday morning from 10 until service time at the funeral home.
