Bernice Odom, 76, of Horn Lake, Miss., formerly of Blytheville, died Aug. 21, 2015 in Horn Lake. Born Nov. 27, 1938 in Augusta, Ga., she was a retired custodian for the Blytheville School District. She was also a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the choir, Usherboard, and worked with the youth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Annie Mitchell, husband Willie Odom, Jr., son Edward Charles Williams and brother Joe Mitchell.

Mrs. Odom leaves two daughters, Delores Williams of Memphis and Debra (Darrin) Palmore of Horn Lake;

Two sons, David Dewayne Williams of Denver and Kenneth (Rachel) Thompson of Memphis;

Four grandchildren, Alexandra Brown, Brandon Brown, Kendall Thompson and Tyler Thompson; and

Three great grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28 at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville. Funeral service, officiated by Rev. Andrew Mitchell, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens.
