Blytheville crime is preventable

To the Editor:

Im not bashing the Blytheville Police Department by no means, but a lot of crimes could be prevented here. I can drive down a few roads and be offered all kinds of drugs just by people yelling, asking if I need some "green", "powder", etc. They should be so easy to catch but they're not even looked at by law enforcement, in my opinion. I understand being an officer is not safe at all and if they went down the rough streets more often, a few officers might get hurt or worse. Some more undercover work should be done in the high drug areas. I don't do drugs, nor do I ride around with people that do them, I spot drug deals and get offered them often. The majority of our crime is drug or gang related. Im just a normal citizen not looking for illegal activity, but can spot it fairly easy, why is that? How many more people have to die before something gets done? The police and us civilians need to have a little more courage and take back OUR town. Half a block can see a crime happen!

But no one wants to "snitch". Just don't tell anyone you talked to the police and make an anonymous tip if you're that scared. It will be very beneficial to us all to report things we see that are wrong and maybe save lives I'd rather not have our taxes raised again to "better" the community, I'd rather "We The People" take control and make it safe for everyone. I do not want any officers hurt in the process, but I also do not want my family to be shot at or killed because someone thinks it's not their business to give some information they have seen or heard about. Thank you to anyone who read this. WE CAN SAVE OUR COMMUNITY AND FEEL SAFE ONCE AGAIN.
