James William Clark

James William Clark, 82, of Leachville, passed from this life Saturday, June 20, 2015, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born in Burdette, he was the son of the late A.C. and Lorene Smith Clark and was raised in the Burdette and Luxora areas.

A 1951 graduate of Luxora High School, he later received an Associates Degree in Mechanical Drafting from Cotton Boll Vo-Tech, and worked in a variety of occupations, retiring from Barton Lumber Company of Leachville in 1990. James was an avid reader, he also enjoyed horseback riding, working in his shop, and playing dominoes with friends. He was a member of the Johnson's Chapel General Baptist Church in Octa, Mo.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, one grandson, and a great-granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Marilyn Harris Clark of Leachville;

six sons, James Clark, Jr. of Tampa, Fla., Mark Clark and wife Sandy of Springhill, Fla., Bryan Clark of Brandon, Fla., Chuck Johnson and wife Carla of Little Rock; Mark Johnson and wife Teresa of Leachville, Jim Johnson and companion Pam Bellomy of Gosnell; one daughter, Denise Clark of Tampa Fla.; two sisters, Edith Brown of St. Louis and Jo Anne Clark of Lubbock, Texas.; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Lavone Smart and Rev. Grady Goff officiating. Burial will follow in the Senath Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Johnson, Mark Johnson, Jim Johnson, Steven Johnson, Cody Johnson and David Malone.

Honorary pallbearers will include Shona Womack, Lauren Johnson, Katelyn Johnson, Morgan Johnson, Jimmy Clark, and Mark Clark.
