Blytheville tax adjustments explained

As reported by the CN last week, the City of Blytheville announced that tax revenue was down by $30,000. This shortfall, according to Finance Director John Callens, was due to a $64,322.58 sum adjustment issued by the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) in May. This, however, is the second such sum adjustment this year, with a smaller one for $22,993.44 back in March. Callens said that last year's adjustment total was between $300-$400.
