Brenda Kay Layton, 53, of Blytheville went to be with the Lord on June 2, 2015 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

She was born December 31, 1961, in Wynne, AR to Jerry and Betty Layton. She had been a medical technician for Family Medicine Associates since 1985.

Brenda was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught the Girl's Auxiliary and was an assistant teacher in Faith Sunday School Class. She was active in the Family Life Center and she loved Gospel music.

She was a witty, loving person who was a joy to be with. She excelled at all kinds of crafts because she was very creative and talented. She also enjoyed going to auctions, reading and cooking. She had a best buddy Gracie Faith, her sweet Yorkie. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Brenda had many, many friends and co-workers who will miss her greatly. Her mother said that she was the perfect daughter.

She was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her parents, Jerry Carlos and Betty Tarbutton Layton;

Two uncles, Ray Layton of Boston, Massachusetts and Paul Layton of Lowell, AR;

Three aunts, Louis Busby of Mississippi, Betty Hall and Nell Layton both of Nashville, Tennessee;

Numerous cousins and a host of friends, church family and co-workers.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 until 8 at Carney Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Carney Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Justin King officiating. Burial will be in Carney Cemetery.
